With over a million things to choose from, my favorite just has to be Amazon.com. Everyone knows them as a preeminent book seller, (and they are), but their online shop now carries a vast library of DVDs, CDs, mp3s, jewelry, clothing accessories, toys, the latest in flat panel LCD and LED HDTVs, the top ten netbooks, all the latest games, and the list goes on.
They have a selection of books to rival the library at Alexandria, and they have them in many formats. There is still the tried and true hardback, or paperback at a generous savings, for any genre of literature you fancy. However; Amazon has become a leader in audio books, e-books, and the Kindle. The Kindle may well prove to do more for lliteracy and elevate culture than any invention since the printing press.
With the ease of shopping online we now have the luxury of waiting until the last minute. We can have our gifts sent to us for wrapping, or in many cases have them gift wrapped and delivered directly to the intended receiver wherever the destination may be. I know the internet has become a vast shopping network, but for my money Amazon.com is the place for secure online one stop shopping.
